PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party is preparing for legal procedures to help Sam Rainsy become a lawmaker, party spokesman Yim Sovan said Wednesday.
Sam Rainsy, president of CNRP, couldn't stand as a parliamentary candidate in the last July general election after his name was removed out of election list by the National Election Committee which claimed that Sam Rainsy was a convict.
He returned home from four-year in self exile just two weeks before the July general election, following a royal pardon granted by the King Norodom Sihamoni.
Yim Sovan, however, didn't clarify how CNRP can help its president to become a lawmaker.
Tep Nitha, secretary general of National Election Committee, said that CNRP could make Sam Rainsy become legitimate lawmaker through updating its election candidate registration and asking one of its lawmakers to resign to be replaced by Sam Rainsy.

If Rainsy wanted a seat in the parliament, who of the 55 MP's needed to be removed so that Rainsy can have his? The easiest would be to take it from his wife seat in the Parliament. But you can ask Yim Sovann or Son Chay if they would give up their seat.
